Gone Fishin'

Once again, Kathryn's buddies, Danielle and Chris, took her on an awesome adventure.  This time it was fishing.  I'm told she had a great time fishing and playing with the other kids.  I hear she almost kissed a fish too, but then chickened out.  She is so lucky to have such wonderful people in her life who love her.  She certainly loves them.

Dr. J and the Dentist

Kathryn went to the dentist today.  She was excited to go.  We read a book about the dentist last night and she couldn't wait to go and pick out her toothbrush.  She said she wanted a green one, but she actually picked out a pink one with Piglet on it. She was very cooperative for the hygienist until she tried to use the electric round toothbrush.  Kathryn did not like that at all!  She ended up straddling me and leaning into the hygienist's lap.  She fought, but we got all her teeth polished.  Everything checked out well too and she loved Dr. J, her dentist.  She showed him her nails and let him look in her mouth.  She only got upset again when I made her come into the bathroom with me.  She's recently developed a fear of public restrooms.  I don't get it at all!

A Day at the Zoo

The weather was gorgeous yesterday so we decided to go to the Southwick Zoo in Mendon, Massachusetts.  It was fun for the first hour,  but then Kathryn was more interested is playing on the playground than looking at animals.  Still... It was fun and we saw a lot of cool things.  I think she'll like to go again when she's a bit older.

Wrapped Around His Finger

I think it's safe to say Kathryn has her father wrapped around her finger,  considering he let her paint them!

What a Face!

Kathryn is adorable and I don't think it's my bias saying that.  Here's exhibit A:

This may be her cutest picture to date.

Now for exhibit B:

I defy anyone to show me a child as cute as this little girl.

I Want "Sum" Popsciles

We've always known Kathryn was bright.  She knew her letters and sounds by 2 years old and she can read and recognize numbers and count to 20.  Tonight though, she shocked us.  She definitely has a Popsicle addiction and this morning I gave her 3 to keep her still so I could do her hair.  (They are very small, so don't judge me!).  Then tonight she had 2 more.  When she asked for more, I said, "You had 3 this morning and 2 this evening."  She then shouted out, "5!" Jared and I asked her to repeat is and she said 5 again.  We just stared at each other in shock.  Then Jared asked her was 3+2 is and she said 5.  That girl appears to be crazy smart!  Then again...she does eat cat food.

On another note, she was very into making a car wash with her blocks this morning.  She's actually petrified of the real one. I took her about a week ago and I've never seen her so scared.  She talks about the car wash a lot now and even talks to it when we drive by it. I think it's her way of dealing with the trauma.

One more of the blueberry girl

How in the world did I not include this picture of her from the blueberry dress?  I think she looks so dang cute!

Blueberry Girl

Last year, Kathryn was obsessed with blueberries.  Because of this, I asked my mom to make her a dress out of some cute blueberry fabric we found.  It was too big for her last year, so we tried it yesterday and it's still a little big, but it's a much better fit.  When we were putting it on, Kathryn said, "Oooh!  How cute!" And later on after washing it, she saw it and said, "Oh, my pretty dress!"  I think she likes it.  I just wish she would've been more cooperative with the pictures!

She wanted to go an egg hunt.  Luckily we had some hard boiled eggs in the fridge to grant this request.

Beating the heat!

Kathryn had a great time playing in the hose today. I think this will be a regular occurence!
