It seems as if Kathryn is changing every day. Even in the past few weeks, it's like she's a totally new child. She's really starting to talk a lot and I love hearing her string full sentences together, like yesterday, I opened the door in the morning and she exclaimed, "Wow! It's cold outside!" That cracked me up for some reason. She's so independent too. I wonder where she gets that from?!?!? Sometimes she is so me and that is not always a good thing!
I think we have a smart cookie on our hands. She knows all of her uppercase letters and most of the lowercase ones as well. What I'm most impressed with though is that she knows all of her letters sounds as well. It's crazy! She can also identify the number 1-9 and she counts to 16. I love watching her learn things.
She has an infatuation with stuffed animals too. She's a bit of a heart breaker though. She loves one animal for a few days and then suddenly loses interest and turns her attention to another one. I hope this isn't an indication of how she's going to treat men when she's older! Some of her past favorites include Buddy, Mickey and Minnie, Junior, June, Library Lion, and Kitty (of Caggy as she calls it). Her current loves are Tenderheart and Share Bear from the Carebears. Tenderheart even took a bath yesterday. I turned away for a second and she'd pulled Tenderheart into the tub. Needless to say, he had a quick jaunt in the drier before going to bed. I do feel sorry for her stuffed animals though. She uses and abuses them and then tosses them aside like yesterday's jam (an IT Crowd reference).
She's the same way with books. She likes to read the same ones for a few days and then suddenly changes her mind. I don't mind this though because I get tired of reading the same book over and over Whenever the book is over, she says, "More time!" her way of saying one more time. It's so cute.
She has also discovered her shadow and was fearful of it at first, but is now friends with it, giving it high 5's and dancing with it. She always talks to it and tells it she loves it. She loves everything. Tonight we got home late and it was almost dark. She looked up and saw the moon and got very excited. She said, "Moon! Right there!" and "Twinkle Star! Right there!" (Stars aren't just stars to her...they're all "twinkle" stars). Then, she tried jumping up to catch the moon. It was precious. As we were walking inside, she said, "Bye, bye, Moon! I love you!" It sounds more like "I yu you!" She's so stinkin' cute!
